Los Angeles Dodgers vs Los Angeles Angels MLB Picks: The Tinseltown war continues on Sunday night in MLB betting action, as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the rubber match on this three game set.
The Dodgers should be getting some good news on Sunday night with the return of Rafael Furcal to the lineup. The team’s shortstop has missed the last 26 games with an oblique injury, and he should be able to step back in nicely to help out a lineup that badly needs the aid. There’s also a big time bugaboo to overcome in the form of a 3-8 record over the course of the last 11 games against their cross town rivals, which is going to heap even more pressure on the backs of the Dodgers in this one ufabet
There’s a lot of pressure on Chad Billingsley to perform on Sunday night. One could say that this righty has been incredibly lucky over the course of this season to post a winning record at 7-6. After all, he has already given up 42 walks on the season, and batters are getting on base at a .345 clip against him because of it.
In fact, Billingsley has awful splits with a 4.22 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP on the campaign. Still, he’s coming off of back to back solid starts in which he got wins against the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers, and the hope is that he can keep that going against the Halos on Sunday.
Meanwhile across the road in Anaheim, the Angels aren’t lighting the world on fire. They’re a very mediocre team at 43-41, and the only reason that they are still thinking about the playoffs is because of just how mediocre the rest of the AL West has really been this season.
The one facet of the game in which the Halos have been anything but mediocre is in Interleague play. They are a rock solid 36-15 over the course of their last 51 Interleague tussles, including that stellar mark against the Dodgers. Ervin Santana has been woeful this year though, and he really needs to pick things up in a big time way if he is going to get back in the win column on Sunday.
Santana is just 3-8 on the season, and he hasn’t picked up a win since May 25th. It’s not all his fault even though a 4.08 ERA is nothing like what we have become accustomed to out of this righty. Santana is only getting 3.6 runs per game of support this year, and there aren’t many pitchers in baseball that are going to win consistently with numbers like that.
Los Angeles Angels @ Los Angeles Dodgers MLB Picks: The Dodgers are certainly not the better team in this game, but it is clear that Billingsley is throwing the ball well right now and is clearly worth a shot on the MLB odds in this one. Take the Dodgers -140 on Sunday Night Baseball.
